IFC Offers Ops Broadband Content

IFC Digital Media plans to offer exclusive content on its IFCTV.com Web site, and will give cable operators the opportunity to tie that content into cable-modem marketing offers.

The site will carry bonus footage from series Dinner for Five and A Decade Under the Influence, IFC's upcoming documentary specials of American cinema in the 1970s. IFC also will carry content from Uncensored On Demand, its SVOD service on IFCTV.com

"We designed IFCTV.com with both our viewers and cable operators in mind," said Cynthia Burnell, senior vice president, general manager, digital media for IFC Companies.

IFC said Decade
will run in three parts on IFC television and as a theatrical release from IFC Films. IFCTV.com footage from both Dinner for Five
and Decade
won't be outtakes, IFC said, but material shot exclusively for use on the Web site.

Uncensored On Demand promises to showcase unique movies and programs that IFC said have been "literally or figuratively" banned from mainstream television because of social, cultural, religious or political reasons.

IFC said some 70% of its Web site users connect via broadband.
