IFC has renewed its hit comedy series Portlandia for two additional seasons, said network executives.
The network has greenlit a sixth and seventh season for the comedy series starring Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, said the network. Each season will feature 10 half-hour episodes.
“Portland may be a place where young people go to retire, but IFC is not retiring Portlandia,” said Jennifer Caserta, IFC’s president in a statement. “And if you order a book from Toni and Candace at the Feminist Bookstore right now, it might even arrive by the time season seven rolls around.”
Armisen and Brownstein will remain at the helm of the series along with co-creator and director Jonathan Krisel. Portlandia is executive produced by Lorne Michaels and produced by Broadway Video.
