'Impractical Jokers' App Gives Fans A Direct Line To Stars

A new mobile app for truTV pranking series Impractical Jokers gives users a chance to talk directly to the stars, along with an array of show-related content, the network said.

The Impractical Jokers app is now available on the iOS and Android platforms and can be downloaded free from the iTunes App Store and Google Play. It comes just ahead of the show's second season premiere on Thursday (Dec. 13) at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

The "Impractical Jokers Hotline" feature gives app users a direct phone line to the show's stars, who are four lifelong friends who take dares to an outrageous level. They "will happily chat if they're available," according to a network press release. "If the guys aren’t around to pick up, callers will be treated to a special recorded message, which will be updated regularly. This marks the first time ever a TV series companion app has included a direct line to the stars of a show."

Other features show clips, refreshed frequently; a social media area; a "Soundboard Smorgasbord" that lets fans replay their favorite catch phrases that Joe, Sal, Murr and Q have used on the show; and a doodle pad section lets fans draw graffiti on photos of the show's stars. Fans can then save the artwork to their mobile devices and share with their friends. The app also has a show-alert feature.
