InfoSpace Sees Rough 3Q

InfoSpace Inc.'s future may look innovative, but its present remains brutal.

The Internet applications technology provider posted a $9.6 million pro forma third-quarter loss, equal to 3 cents per share, and announced that it would slash 200 jobs.

The job cuts are part of a reorganization that will tie software engineering directly to its product lines, including broadband and wireless services.

Debuting with an initial public offering at $15 a share, InfoSpace has seen its share price fall from heady $138 territory to hover in the $2 range.
