Insight Reports Sluggish Gains

Insight Communications reported sluggish gains in the second quarter, with revenue and cash flow rising 2% each as the mid-market MSO lost about 13,600 basic video customers in the period.
Insight, which put itself up for sale in March, reported revenue of $270.5 million in the period, up 2% from the previous year, Operating income before depreciation and amortization rose 2% to $92.2 million. The results mirrored those of the first quarter, when revenue and cash flow also rose 2% each.
Advanced services growth also appeared to slow in the quarter - digital customers rose by 6,200 (down from 18,500 additions in the prior year); high-speed data customers rose by 1,800 (vs. 14,700 in 2010) and telephony subscribers fell by 4,600 (compared to an increase of 1,300 in 2010).
