The Inspiration Network will jump into the action sports arena with the debut Thursday (Oct. 16) of a youth-targeted reality TV series.
The weekly series, dubbed The Uprising, is produced by Steelroots, a media-based ministries focusing on action sports, and follows the professional and personal lives of professional skateboarders Jay Haizlip, Christian Hosoi, and Brian Sumner.
“With gut-level honesty, viewers will experience an entirely new side of these action sports figures,” said Bill Airy, COO of INSP’s parent company The Inspiration Networks. “They’ll see not just the thrills, but watch them interact with real people who struggle with issues like alcohol, drug addiction, and abuse. We believe that this is an unusually gripping, entertaining, and inspirational program.”
Airy also said that the show will have a major presence at the Steelroots Web site. The site will feature full-length episodes of the series along with behind-the-scenes clips that will not be available on the television version of the program.
“We also will partner with the hosts for online giveaways and other promotions that extend the brand of the series,” he said.
