Dallas -- Source Media Co.'s Interactive Channel will
work with News America Digital Publishing to develop and distribute digital, interactive
cable programming, the companies announced.

The programming is targeted at 'the initial 15 million
digital set-tops on order by the cable industry,' executives said, referring to a
cable-consortium buy of boxes from General Instrument Corp.

Specifically, Interactive Channel will format content from
News America's Internet properties, which include TV Guide Entertainment Network, Fox
News Online and Fox Sports Online.

Tom Oliver, president of Interactive Channel, said the
service is downloadable 'at no cost' to buyers of GI's set-tops, 'so
that [MSOs] can offer Internet access, localized, community-oriented programming and its
full range of interactive offerings now to the current generation of digital
set-tops.'

In addition to creating new content with News America,
Interactive Channel's Internet-access capabilities will let users go directly to News
America's Web sites, surf for local TV and event listings, participate in interactive
merchandising and receive promotional programming and interactive games, Oliver said.
