Investing Time, Achieving Goals

Edward Zimmermann, 34

Comcast Potomac Region

Ed Zimmermann played a pivotal role when Comcast needed to integrate 750,000 subscribers from Adelphia and SusCom properties in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and North Carolina. Now, as vice president of finance and business operations for Comcast’s Potomac region, he oversees all financial functions for roughly 1.1 million subscribers.

“The most important aspect of a successful career is building strong teams and relationships,” said Zimmermann. “In the world of finance, having a successful department all starts with crafting a common vision that creates a great work environment. Investing time and capital into your team is ultimately your best path towards achieving your overall goals.”

Zimmermann has worked at every level of the company, from the local system to the corporate office. Formerly vice president of finance for the Atlantic division, he has presided over double-digit total cash flow growth for four consecutive years.

He joined Comcast through its acquisition of AT&T Broadband, where he was a part of the fast-track Financial Leadership program, cycling through various functional departments over the course of two years. He went on to work in AT&T Broadband’s phone business managing the finances associated with inter-company contracts.

A man of many talents, Zimmermann has also written and directed an independent film, Leftovers.
