Ion Bolsters Ad Sales Staff

Ion Media Networks Wednesday named three new sales executives.

Blaine Rominger joins the company as senior vice president of national/local/cable long-form sales, based in Los Angeles. Ian Mahoney was appointed vice president of  network sales Midwest, based in Chicago, while Robert Marino has come on board as director of network sales in New York.

Rominger will develop and manage Ion Television’s long-form initiatives and sales practices. Most recently, he served as general manager of Time Warner Media-Comcast Spotlight, where he had previously been director of sales. Rominger previously held positions at KTVU-TV, a Fox affiliate of Cox Broadcasting and other local television broadcasting entities

Mahoney will oversee all Chicago and Detroit network sales. He has a deep background in broadcast, syndication and cable national sales and management, most recently as vice president of  Midwest/West Coast sales for MyNetwork TV. He was previously vice president of Midwest sales for Court TV and director of cable entertainment sales for  NBC Universal in Chicago.

Marino will be responsible for network sales based in New York and the Southeast region, including Atlanta. He was most recently vice president of New York sales for AMC/WeTV Networks in New York. Marino was an account executive at Fox Family Worldwide/ABC Family, where he successfully brought in many formerly “cable resistant” major brands and consistently increased revenues.
