Ion Deals For 'Godfather,' 'Goodfellas,' 'Shark'

Ion Television, fortifying its mix of films and series, has closed a series of licensing deals.
The pacts with Paramount Pictures Worldwide Television and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, terms of which were not disclosed, will give the network access to such films as "The Godfather" trilogy, Top Gun, The Fugitive, GoodFellas and Space Cowboys.
On the series front, Ion has secured the rights to the first two seasons of Shark, starring James Woods, and four seasons of reality series, Texas Justice, from Twentieth Television.
The programming will air on the service throughout 2010.

"With nearly 35 star-studded movies and high profile network television series, Ion Television continues to position itself as the premiere programming destination for the many viewers looking for top feature films," said Kristine Hunsinger, senior vice president, planning, scheduling and acquisitions, in a statement. "With this announcement, Ion Television is establishing itself as a clear choice for appointment viewing."
