SES Americom’s IP-PRIME IPTV service announced several carriage deals Monday.
In September, SES Americom announced carriage deals with 30 programmers including Starz Entertainment Group, A&E Television Networks, Hallmark Channels and Lifetime Entertainment Services (www.multichannel.com/article/CA6373038.html).
Among programmers that reached IP PRIME carriage deals in the most recent round:
• The complete MTV Networks lineup, including MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Noggin, Spike TV, MHD and TV Land, as well as BET Networks channels including BETand BET J;
• The complete Scripps Networks lineup, including Home & Garden Television HD, Food Network HD and Fine Living; and
• Fox News Channel, Oxygen, Ovation, FamilyNet, Lime, Jewelry TV, The Outdoor Channel, Sí TV, Music Choice channels, Sportsman Channel, GSN and Trinity Broadcasting Network’s channels.
“SES Americom is fast approaching the milestone 300-channel IPTV lineup ahead of schedule as we prepare for the commercial launch of IP-PRIME early next year," SES Americom president of media and enterprise solutions Bryan McGuirk said in a prepared statement.
"The impressive, diverse IPTV programming we've secured up and down the digital dial is a strong testament to SES Americom's distribution experience and the trust we've earned from the programming community,” he added.
SES Americom also announced last week that it will use International Datacasting’s next-generation DVB-S2 satellite receivers and Amino Communications’ AmiNET130 set-tops for IP-PRIME.
Under terms of the agreement between the two companies, IDC will be the exclusive provider of satellite receivers over the initial year of IP-PRIME service rollouts.
SES Americom is also using IDC’s IP encapsulators and custom engineering and network management for IP-PRIME.
