SES Americom’s IP-PRIME content-distribution platform integrated Siemens Communications’ Internet-protocol-television middleware powered by Myrio.
IP-PRIME enables broadband operators to distribute hundreds of TV channels to subscribers over the same digital subscriber lines that bring them voice and high-speed-Internet access.
“With Siemens’ IPTV middleware in place, IP-PRIME helps to provide a true end-to-end distribution solution that allows hundreds of telephone and communications companies to cost-effectively deploy IPTV offerings for consumers," SES Americom chief technology officer Alan Young said in a prepared statement.
"IP-PRIME creates a level playing field, making it simple and affordable for rural and independent communications companies to deliver a new generation of television services,” he added.
