Irdeto Secures Adobe Flash Access 2.0

Irdeto announced an agreement with Adobe Systems to support the Flash Access 2.0 delivery platform, with Irdeto providing a hosted licensing service for content providers to distribute digital media content securely over the Internet.

Irdeto's Adobe Flash Access 2.0 license service will be available as a hosted service via the company's existing international data centers.

Adobe Flash Access 2.0 allows content providers to distribute protected content directly to Flash Player runtime clients. The system has been endorsed by the Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem (DECE) for providing authenticated access to content in a "digital locker."

"Irdeto's support for Adobe Flash Access 2.0 creates opportunities for content providers to distribute content securely to consumers worldwide," Florian Pestoni, principal product manager for Abode's Rich Media Solutions group.

Adobe and Irdeto are showing their joint solution this week at the 2010
NAB Show.

Separately, on Tuesday Irdeto announced a deal with Netflix, which has licensed the firm's Cloakware Embedded Security software as part of extending its video-streaming service to additional consumer-electronics devices.
