Israel's Golden Channels Launches NVOD

Golden Channels & Co., Israel's largest cable-television company, has
launched near-video-on-demand services in Jerusalem and the Tel Aviv metro area
via a video-server system supplied by SeaChange International Inc.

The MSO's NVOD service is comprised of 12 channels of Hollywood, Israeli and
European movies, offering them up through SeaChange's 'MediaCluster' system and
Thomson Multimedia-built digital set-tops with OpenTV Corp.'s middleware and
Nagravision's conditional-access system.

Golden Channels' initial configuration calls for storage of more than 1,000
hours of content.

Golden Channels, which passes more than 660,000 cable homes, hopes to
eventually offer full VOD services, as well, the company said.
