Three tech suppliers -- itaas , RGB Networks and content-security vendor Verimatrix -- have hooked up to offer pay-TV operators what they claim is a complete multiscreen TV Everywhere service, including streaming live video.
Atlanta-based itaas serves as the system integrator and provides an interactive client app for viewing content, while RGB contributes video-encoding and -delivery solutions. Verimatrix provides its VCAS for Internet TV digital rights management solution for over-the-top services on networks implementing the HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) protocol.
In initiating a project for an operator, itaas's network architects will assess a service provider's existing video delivery infrastructure and then work with RGB and Verimatrix as well as content delivery network providers to design and implement a TV Everywhere solution. Customers can use the itaas mobile application or integrate the solution with an existing mobile solution.
"Building an adaptive bit-rate IP video infrastructure can be a daunting task for even the largest, most technically proficient service provider," said itaas vice president of business development and marketing Jim Elayan. "As an extension of our iLaunch program, we will leverage RGB Networks and Verimatrix products with our experience in system integration and network deployment to provide a 'best-of-breed' solution."
RGB expects to demo the joint solution at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo next month and the TelcoTV conference.
