iTunes Sells 50M TV Shows

Apple said Tuesday that it has sold more than 50 million TV episodes through its iTunes Music Store.

While Apple hasn’t disclosed revenue figures for the TV shows sold from ABC, NBC, Fox and other broadcast and cable programmers since iTunes began selling TV series last year, the figure would put Apple’s total TV revenue from iTunes at around $100 million.

Apple also said Tuesday that it has sold more than 2 billion songs and 1.3 million feature-length films through iTunes.

The company boasted in an announcement released at the Macworld convention in San Francisco that it is the “world’s most popular online music, TV and movie store.”
