The executives behind Cablevision Systems Corp.'s iO: Interactive Optimum service and "NASCAR in Car on In Demand" will receive Emmy awards for outstanding achievement in interactive programming on Sept. 13.
iO lets Cablevision subscribers access a variety of VOD channels. The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing product allows subscribers to switch among seven channels, each connected to a car in weekly race coverage, and hear communications between the driver and pit crew. An animated dashboard provides data on the driver's progress.
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences last year awarded an Emmy for an AOL TV application supporting HBO's Band of Brothers.
