MPEG-4 technology provider iVAST Inc. has landed a partnership deal with
information-technology supplier ITOCHU Techno-Science Corp. (CTC) to distribute
its digital-media-delivery system to customers worldwide beginning Nov. 1.
Under the deal, ITOCHU will distribute Santa Clara, Calif.-based iVAST's
software tools for creation, delivery and playback of interactive MPEG-4 (Moving
Picture Expert Group) digital media. The two also will integrate the iVAST
'Media Server' software into ITOCHU's 'Universal Media Delivery Suite' for
'Broadband has expanded expectations in the way media is delivered,' CTC
president Osamu Gotoh said in a release. 'iVAST's MPEG-4 solutions provide our
clients the digital-media solution they're looking for -- stunning picture
quality at much lower bandwidths, and advanced interactive capabilities to
create new on-demand services.'
