Jeffrey Tambor, Ashley Judd Join 'Tangled' Series

Ashley Judd and Jeffrey Tambor are among the actors joining the cast of Disney Channel’s upcoming Tangled: Before Ever After animated series.


Judd (Divergent) will voice the part of lead character Rapunzel's mother, Queen Arianna, while Tambor (Transparent) and Paul F. Tompkins (Anchorman) will reprise their roles of Big Nose and Shorty from the original 2010 film, Disney said.

Also joining the cast are Eden Espinosa (Wicked) as comedian Jeff Ross (The Wedding Ringer); Richard Kind (Inside Out); Sean Hayes (Will & Grace); Peter MacNicol (Ally McBeal); Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption); Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost); Diedrich Bader (The Drew Carey Show); Charles Halford (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D); Steve Blum (Star Wars Rebels); James Monroe Iglehart (Broadway's Aladdin); Jeremy Jordan (Supergirl); and Jonathan Banks (Better Call Saul).

Tangled: Before Ever After, set between the events of the feature film and the start of the 2012 short film, Tangled Ever After, will premiere on the Disney Channel in 2017, network officials siad.
