The second season of MTV's reality series Jersey Shore continues to score big with the network's key demo group.
The Aug. 19 installment of Jersey Shore, tracking the housemates antic in and around South Beach, averaged a 5.4 rating among persons 12 to 34, its best number yet with the network's key general audience set, according to Nielsen live+same-day data. That figure surpassed the 5.3 mark against that group recorded by the Aug. 12 episode.
MTV officials said Jersey Shore has notched the top four cablecasts in 2010 against that demo group.
All told, 5.5 million tuned in Thursday night, matching Jersey Shore's prior-week performance as the series' best thus far.
