Bruce Johansen announced Wednesday that he will step down as president and
CEO of the National Association of Television Programming Executives.
Johansen -- who made the announcement at the association's annual convention
in New Orleans -- will remain in his post until a successor is named.
"It has been an extraordinary decade working with NAPTE, which has provided
many advantages and benefits to the global television industry," Johansen said
in a prepared statement.
"Our mandate was to help our business grow and constantly challenge itself to
reach for new heights, and I am pleased to have been a part of helping the
television industry to evolve," he added.
In other NATPE news, Peggy Kelly, senior vice president of global client
services at Universal McCann, was elected chairman of the trade group's board of
The association also welcomed three new members to its board of directors:
Gary Marenzi, president, Paramount International Television; Gilles Meunier,
commercial director, SmartJog; and John Reardon, West Coast regional VP, Tribune
Television and general manager, KTLA-TV Los Angeles.
