NFL Network has named Dennis Johnson to its communications squad.
The 14-year cable industry veteran will serve as director of communications for the pro football league’s in-house service.
Kicking off his new job March 24, Johnson, who had been working for the past three years at Game Show Network, will have oversight for developing and implementing communication and public relations strategies for the four-year cable network.
He succeeds Seth Palansky, who recently departed the NFL to head communications for the sports and entertainment unit of Harrah’s Entertainment in Las Vegas
Previously, Johnson spent 11 years with Fox Sports in a variety of roles. He began his career at FSN West and FSN West 2 in 1995. Johnson also spent 1997-98 as manager of media relations for Fox Sports Net Northwest. He promoted national Fox Sports Net programming, including Fox Sports News, The Last Word with Jim Rome and NFL This Morning from 1998 to 2000. He then served as director of public relations for FSN West and FSN West2 in southern California from 2000 to 2005.
