Alexandria, Va. -- Tele-Communications Inc. chief operating
officer Marvin Jones and Playboy Enterprises chairman and CEO Christie Hefner will speak
at CTAM's March Digital and Pay-Per-View conference in Los Angeles.
Hefner, who orchestrated Playboy's recent acquisition
of Spice Entertainment Cos., will address the attendees during the conference's
opening session March 19, CTAM said. Jones will be interviewed about TCI's digital
plans during a second morning panel.
Meanwhile, Ajit Dalvi, senior vice president of programming
and strategy for Cox Communications Inc.; David Beddow, senior vice president of TCI
Technology Ventures; Jim O'Brien, president and COO of Jones Intercable Inc.; and Jim
Ramo, president of TVN Entertainment Corp., will discuss the state of digital cable, as
well as their expectations for the future, during the conference's closing brunch
March 20, said CTAM, cable's marketing trade group.
Jayson Juraska, vice president of operations for Cox, will
serve as conference chair, while Jim Braun, director of new-product development for Time
Warner Cable, and Curtis Symonds, president and CEO of BET Networks, will carry conference
'This is going to be a very exciting conference -- not
only do we have many of the key players in PPV, but we've got a 'Who's
Who' of digital decision-makers,' Juraska said, in a prepared statement.
