A&E Network is launching a Saturday primetime block that will be anchored
by two off-network shows, Crossing Jordan and Third Watch,
officials said Monday.
The block will debut this Saturday with the A&E premiere of NBC hit
Jordan.The network will kick off the new Saturday block at 8 p.m.
with forensics-documentary series Cold Case Files,followed at 9
p.m. by forensics drama Jordan,with Watch rounding out the
night at 10 p.m.
To promote its premiere of Jordan,A&E will run an
extensive on-air image campaign that will include critics' quotes; combination
Jordan and Watch block spots; and customized promos with
Jordan star Jill Hennessy.
The scheduling changes were initiated by newly named A&E general manager
Abbe Raven, former head of The History Channel.
