The Walter Kaitz Foundation extended its deadline for the purchase of advance tickets to its 2005 Fund-Raising Dinner to Thursday, Aug. 25.
The deadline had been this Wednesday.
The event will be held Wednesday, Sept. 14 at the Hilton New York. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m., and dinner will be at 7:30 p.m. “Business attire” is recommended for those attending the event, the organization said.
Kaitz this year will honor the efforts of Time Warner Cable chairman and CEO Glenn Britt and a trio of Cox Enterprises Inc. executives: Mae Douglas, senior vice president and chief people officer; Sherryl Love, VP of materials management; and Jim Hatcher, senior VP of legal and regulatory affairs.
In addition, Rep. Melvin L. Watt (D-N.C.), chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, will be honored as the Kaitz Foundation’s “2005 Diversity Advocate.”
NBC News and MSNBC anchor Lester Holt will serve as master of ceremonies for the event, and its co-chairs are Comcast Corp. chairman and CEO Brian Roberts and ESPN and ABC Sports president George Bodenheimer.
“Ticket purchases have been strong in recent weeks, and we want to ensure that every company and interested individual has the opportunity to support and attend this important event," Kaitz Foundation executive director Debbie A. Smith said in a prepared statement.
“Our honorees this year provide excellent examples of how all of us can help to foster diversity in our workplaces, so the dinner is one event no industry executive will want to miss,” she added.
