Video-on-demand-server provider Kasenna Inc. has launched its “Secure Video Delivery” network system, which it said gives content providers end-to-end encrypted protection for programming.

The system delivers encrypted content from a program network or studio's origination source all the way to subscribers' homes, the vendor said.

Kasenna recently purchased ViewNow, which has content-distribution rights with the major film studios.

“By eliminating the cost and liability of content encryption and providing access to premium video titles, we have made premium video content available to any IP [Internet protocol] broadband-service provider with a cost structure that ensures near-term profitability," ViewNow president Steve Roberts said in a prepared statement.
