Katy Perry Picks ESPN's 'GameDay' (Updated)

Katy Perry’s got her Grove on.,

The pop star served as the guest picker on ESPN’s College GameDay, which visited Oxford, Miss. for the first time on Saturday, Oct. 4. The Rebels host Alabama’s Crimson Tide in a battle of unbeatens in a contest that airs on CBS at 3:30 p.m.(ET)

Perry, in fuzzy jersey and pigtails, joined host Chris Fowler and analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and Desmond Howard, all adorned in bow ties, with their winning picks for the weekend’s top college football contests. Perry enthusiastically replied to Herbstreit's Twitter invite (see above) for her presence on the set.

For the record, Perry played to the Magnolia home state advantage, selecting Mississippi State to top Texas A&M and Ole Miss to roll against the Tide. She also served corn dogs to LSU fans (pictured), picking Auburn over the Bayou Bengals in the annual Tiger Bowl, which kicks off on ESPN at 7 p.m.

The Emmy Award-winning show, which kicks off Saturday at 9 a.m .and runs until noon, set up on The Grove in the heart of one of the best tailgating scenes in the country.

Why The Grove?

According to The Clarion Ledger: Perry has a stop on her Prismatic Tour in Memphis on Sunday, but has the day off on Saturday. Perhaps more importantly, her manager is a 1996 Ole Miss grad.
