Cable-industry veteran Jerry Kent will headline the American Cable Association’s 12th Annual Summit, the small-operator trade group said Thursday.
Kent is currently CEO of Cebridge Connections, and he was cofounder and former CEO of Charter Communications Inc.
“Having been at the helm of one of the nation’s largest cable companies, Jerry Kent brings a unique perspective to the challenges facing the smaller, independent companies, which he now counts as his peers,” ACA CEO Matt Polka said in a prepared statement.
“There are so many critical issues on the table, not the least of which are the retransmission-consent negotiations we and other cable operators will face this year,” Kent said in a prepared statement. “That’s one of several subjects I plan to address at the Summit -- focusing on where we and, most important, our customers need Washington’s help and why we need it today.”
The ACA Summit will be held May 16-17 in Washington, D.C.
