MTV: Music Television special Choose or Lose: Twenty Million Questions for John Kerry drew 3.5 million viewers Tuesday night, the network said.
The network added that the Kerry program was its highest-rated "Choose or Lose" special since the campaign’s inception in 1992.
MTV said its special attracted more viewers than Bravo’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, FX’s The Shield, Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers and coverage of the National Invitation Tournament and the Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament on ESPN and ESPN2.
"With issues like the war in Iraq, college debt and the unpredictable job market, young voters have a lot at stake this year," MTV vice president of public affairs and strategic partnerships Ian Rowe said in a prepared statement.
"By tuning in for specials like this one, they continue to debunk the myth that they are disinterested in the political process," he added.
