Knowledge Networks will help NBC Universal with knowledge about consumer interaction with its multiplatform coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics from Vancouver.
The Menlo Park, Calif.-headquartered company is part of the NBCU's so-called "Billion Dollar Olympic Research Lab" that will provide next-day data about the performance of multiple properties during the Games, including NBC, the programmer's cable properties USA Network, CNBC and MSNBC, Internet sites and mobile Web sites.
The 2010 Olympic Winter Games will mark the 10th Games on which NBCU and Knowledge Network have collaborated. In 2009, Knowledge Networks and NBCU were co-winners of a Case Study Award from Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing for similar research about the 2008 Beijing Games.
"Research about our Vancouver Olympics media work is one of our most important initiatives of 2010," said Horst Stipp, senior vice president of strategic insights and innovation at NBCU in a statement, "and we are pleased to have the accuracy and thoroughness of KN's approach as a centerpiece of these efforts."
