One of the executives who developed The Nashville Network is trying on some New Shoes.
Former Gaylord Entertainment Cos. music, media and entertainment president Carl W. Kornmeyer will be president of Nashville, Tenn.-based New Shoes Media LLC, which is exploring digital-cable network and programming opportunities.
New Shoes’ founders are Thomas W. Jacobs, managing partner of Nashville accounting firm Jacobs, Cohen & McCormack and partner in Integrated Sports Management LLC; and Robert M. Frank, president of Frank/Best International, a marketing and advertising agency also headquartered in Nashville.
Jacobs will serve as chairman and CEO, while Frank has been named executive vice president and chief sales and marketing officer.
Kornmeyer -- who was also a senior executive at County Music Television and who headed the creation and growth of six international cable networks -- said in a prepared statement: “We believe there are a number of audiences and special interests still underserved by the current roster of television networks and programming. New Shoes has assembled an experienced team of entertainment executives that not only can effectively identify these interests and opportunities, but that also has the business acumen to turn these opportunities into financial success.”
