LA Judge Keeps Allen Out Of SAG Negotiating Chain

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Chalfant has denied a request for a temporary restraining order by SAG president Alan Rosenberg and other officials to bar the removal of Doug Allen, the guild's chief negotiator.
Consequently, SAG interim national executive director David White remains in place and that SAG senior advisor John McGuire will serve as chief negotiator in Allen's absence.

It remains unclear when SAG will meet with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, with whom they have been without a contract since last June; the parties had been scheduled to meet on Feb. 3 and 4, prior to Rosenberg's legal gambit.

SAG's national board of directors will meet jointly with AFTRA on Saturday to discuss upcoming commercial contracts negotiations, and will have a SAG board meeting on Sunday. Both will be held via videoconference in Los Angeles and New York.

"I'm pleased that we can put this matter behind us and dedicate our complete focus to the needs of Screen Actors Guild members," said White in a statement made Thursday. "There's a lot of work ahead of us."
