Lakers-Wolves Sets Cable Mark

Tuesday night’s third game of the National Basketball Association Western Conference Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves on Turner Network Television was the most-watched playoff game in cable-television history, according to network officials.

The May 25 contest posted up a 6.8 household rating (5.5 nationally), scoring with some 6 million households on average.

Only the 2003 All-Star Game -- the swan song of hoops all-timer Michael Jordan, which drew some 7.1 million households -- outpaced Tuesday night’s game.
