'Larrymania' Pays Off for Youth-Focused mun2

Larrymania, the reality series featuring norteño singer Larry Hernandez, has helped mun2 score record-breaking ratings, reaching a total 3.1 million viewers since its Oct. 7 premiere.

Citing Nielsen numbers, mun2 said Larrymania enjoyed triple-digit growth among adults 18-34, adults 18-49 and total viewers. The Sunday-night offering is now the network’s No. 1 original series and the top-rated  program in its timeslot in Hispanic cable.

“These numbers prove once again that it’s all about the right product mix for the Latino audience,” mun2 general manager Diana Mogollon said. “We now know what’s going to work for them.”

Larrymania will wrap up in December, though mun2 hasn’t set an airdate for the season finale. Mogollon said the network is already angling for a second season, to air in early 2013.

Mun2 has also reported increased ratings for its other properties, mostly original productions, including DUB Latino and Premios Billboard de la música mexicana.
