Disney Channel’s original movie franchise scored with just under 5 million viewers on Friday night.
The Oct. 12 premiere of Girl Vs. Monster averaged 4.9 million viewers, according to Nielsen data, a total that included 2.8 million kids 2 to 11, 2.2 million kids 6 o 11 and 1.9 million tweens 9 to 14. Those deliveries made the telefilm the top show on TV against all of those demos on Friday.
Girl Vs. Monster built each half-hour, peaking with 5.6 million total viewers and 3.2 million kids 2 to 11.
The original movie proved to be a strong lead-in for new series Dog With a Blog (9:40 p.m.), which averaged 4.5 million viewers, 2.6 million kids 2 to 11, 2.1 million kids 6 to 11 and 1.7 million tweens. The show’s regular timeslot premiere is Sunday, Nov. 4 at 8 p.m.
