Turner Network Television courted giant numbers, including the show’s
most-watched episode ever on cable, with its Law & Order marathon
Labor Day.

Airing Sept. 1 from 10 a.m.-9 p.m., the L&O stunt averaged 2,94
million viewers two-plus, 2.22 million households, 1.28 million adults 18-49 and
1.46 million adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research data. The 8 p.m.
telecast, which delivered 5.16 million viewers two-plus, was the most-watched
episode of the batch.

Gauged against the same time period year-to-date, the marathon scored a 152%
rise among viewers, a 131% gain against households, a 132% advance versus adults
18-49 and a 153% improvement among adults 25-54.

The recent L&O airings beat a similar stunt on Labor Day 2002: up
56% among viewers, 38% in households, 40% against the younger-adult demo and 33%
versus the older group.

Falling outside the province of the stunt, a 9 p.m. airing of the show
delivered more adults 18-49 (1.98 million) and 25-54 (2.4 million) than any
other L&O in cable history, according to network
officials.
