Leddy to Testify Before House Panel

Kevin Leddy, senior vice president of strategy and development for Time Warner Cable, will represent the cable industry Wednesday before a House subcommittee that is studying the impact of digital convergence on cable and telecommunications markets.

The hearing is a continuation of subcommittee’s plan to consider changes next year to the Telecommunications Act of 1996 -- a process that is already under way in the Senate with the support of Federal Communications Commission chairman Michael Powell.

Last week, Comcast Corp. CEO Brian Roberts told the Senate Commerce Committee he opposed a major overhaul of the law, saying that it would cause disruption within the industry and Wall Street.
