Liberate Technologies unveiled its new combined video, voice and data
software suite, dubbed 'Digital Services Automation,' at a New York
press/analyst briefing Tuesday.
DSA includes the software from newly acquired Sigma Systems. Sigma's major
clients include Comcast Cable Communications Inc. and Cox Communications Inc.
for high-speed Internet services.
The DSA software increases customer satisfaction and dramatically reduces
operating expenses by automating provisioning, configuration, call centers,
customer service and technical support.
And it gives network operators faster return on investment by letting them
quickly launch new services, use push-button buys to promote on-demand content
and services and tailor content and services to consumer usage patterns.
With the Sigma software, Liberate now serves more than 4 million high-speed
subscribers worldwide, compared with about 3 million for its interactive-TV
software. The vendor also provides software support for Cox's 620,000 telephony
subscribers. That application from Sigma has been renamed the 'Liberate Voice
Service Management Suite.'
The Voice Suite enables cable-TV operators to add local and long-distance
telephone service to their offerings, allowing them to strengthen their bundled
services offering and increase gross service margin per subscriber.
It helps them to do so with the scalability to handle millions of
subscribers, reliability to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and
efficiency to minimize operating costs.
