Mag Rack Entertainment's Lifeskool video-on-demand service is losing Time Warner Cable carriage in Western New York and other markets, the cabler said and the programmer confirmed.
TWC, which posts actual or possible channel changes on its systems' local Web sites, told Western New York customers Lifeskool VOD was being dropped from the lineup on June 3.
Mag Rack's Matthew Davidge said Time Warner Cable's contract to carry Lifeskool (being rebranded Mag Rack) expired last summer but the service wasn't dropped. He and partner Joseph Covey bought Lifeskool from Cablevision Systems last October, and the partners later bought VOD provider Concert.tv.
MRE has continued to talk to TWC about Lifeskool and Concert.tv carriage, and about new interactive ventures, but in the meantime TWC opted to drop Lifeskool, Davidge said. TWC offered the service in about 1.8 million homes, he said. Lifeskool and Concert.tv each reaches about 25 million homes, he said.
