Lifetime Television won hands down in household ratings for the week ending
April 7, posting a 2.2, according to Nielsen Media Research.
USA Network, Nickelodeon and Turner Network Television (1.8) pulled a
three-way tie for second.
TBS Superstation (1.6) placed fifth, followed by Cartoon Network (1.7), MTV:
Music Television (1.3) and Fox News Channel (1.2). Discovery Channel and rival
A&E Network (1.1) tied for ninth.
A trio of networks earned laurels in key adult demos. Fueled by The
Osbournes, Real World XI and the April 7 installment of
Jackass, MTV was tops in 18-through-34s, averaging 668,000 such primetime
viewers. USA was second in the demo with 432,000 average primetime viewers,
followed by TBS with 402,000.
Among those 18 through 49, USA was tops in primetime, attracting just over 1
million such viewers on average. Lifetime was second with 964,000, topping TNT's
average by 10,000.
Lifetime led among 25-through-54s for the week with 1.12 million, beating USA
(1.09 million) and TNT (1 million).
