Lifetime Fits Into a Medium

NBC drama Medium has found a cable home for itself on Lifetime Television.

Lifetime acquired the exclusive basic-cable rights for the second-year series, which stars Patricia Arquette, who won the 2005 “Outstanding Lead Actress” Emmy Award for her portrayal of psychic crime solver Allison DuBois.

Medium -- which averages 3.9 million women 18-49 and 12.1 million total viewers in its Monday 10 p.m. time period on NBC -- will join Lifetime’s lineup in 2009.

“We think this smart and absorbing drama depicting a woman in all of the complexity of her life, juggling a normal family with an extremely unusual line of work, will resonate strongly with our audience and make an outstanding addition to our schedule,” Lifetime Entertainment Services president of entertainment Susanne Daniels said in a prepared statement.
