Lifetime has hired Nina Lederman to lead the development for its scripted programming endeavors.
As senior vice president, series programming and development for Lifetime Networks, Lederman, who will be based in Los Angeles, is charged with oversight for all of the scripted programming at the women’s-programmer, which has scored with drama Army Wives and last week launched its first primetime comedy series, Rita Rocks in a decade.
“Nina’s extensive experience as a production executive, producer and development executive make her a triple threat in this industry,” said Lifetime Networks executive vice president of entertainment JoAnn Alfano, to whom she will report, in a statement. “As the business landscape continues to change, she has the perfect skill set to explore new, efficient and effective production models. The combination of Nina’s talent, strong relationships and vision make her an incredible asset to expand on Lifetime’s record of success in scripted series.”
Lederman is one of the executive producers of Maid in Manhattan, a one hour put pilot at ABC, based on the movie of the same name. From 2005 to 2008, she was president of Joe Roth TV, based at CBS/Paramount.
Her resume also includes numerous producer credits for NBC, CBS, ABC and HBO, working on comedy series, specials, variety series and first-run syndication.
