Lifetime’s Take on Ammon Case

Lifetime Television will debut Lifetime Original MovieMurder in the HamptonsMonday, July 11 at 9 p.m. (EST/PST), the network said Monday.

Murder in the Hamptons-- starring Poppy Montgomery (Without a Trace, Blonde), David Sutcliffe (Happy Endings, I’m with Her) and Shawn Christian (Summerland, Shopgirl) -- is based on the true story of the murder of multimillionaire Ted Ammon.

“We are all drawn to the mystery about what really happened behind the headline news,” Lifetime senior vice president of original movies Trevor Walton said in a prepared statement.

“In this story, human passion and folly are fueled by extraordinary wealth,” he added. “We’re delighted to have Poppy, David and Shawn portray this trio of complex characters and examine the horrendous crime that forever links them.”
