Lifetime Network’s political affairs campaign, Every Woman Counts has scheduled multiple events in Denver and Minneapolis/St. Paul to coincide with the political conventions scheduled in both those cities in August and September.
The Denver event will be at the Curtis Hotel on Aug. 25 and the one scheduled in St. Paul on Sept. 1 will be held at The Minnesota History Center. These day-long events gather the winners of Lifetime’s “Future Frontrunners” essay contest to meet with elected officials, journalists and advocates. The essay competition was targeted at high school and college-aged women and co-sponsored by CosmoGIRL!'s Project 2024 and Declare Yourself, a non-partisan campaign to register more 18-year-olds to vote.
In both cities, the network also will sponsor late-night concerts dubbed “Political Chicks a Go-Go” co-sponsored by Right NOW and Rock the Vote. Other events include celebrations of women in leadership and breakfast rallies with women’s caucuses.
Lifetime’s “Every Woman Counts” bus tour will conclude in the convention cities after stops in 11 media markets to register women to vote and to record vignettes titled “If I were president...”
