Lifetime: Stop Breast Cancer

Lifetime Television launched its 12th annual Stop Breast Cancer for Life campaign.

The campaign, which runs through National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, features original programming, online resources, community outreach and partnerships with nonprofit groups.

The network said programming tied to this year’s campaign includes Sarah Chalke (Scrubs) and Jay Harrington (Desperate Housewives) starring in Lifetime Original Movie Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy, premiering Oct. 23 at 9 p.m.

The movie is based on the memoir of Lifetime executive and breast-cancer survivor Geralyn Lucas, who now works on the network’s breast-cancer-awareness campaign.

Programming tied to the campaign also includes the U.S. premiere of Four Extraordinary Women, which will debut Oct. 20 at 7 p.m., and original drama series Angela’s Eyes. Lifetime will also run several new public-service announcements featuring breast-cancer survivors in October.

Lifetime is also teaming up with Amazon.com and RealNetworks’ RealArcade to raise funds for 10 breast-cancer charities that its supports.

Its partners include The Anastacia Fund, Breast Cancer Action, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, breastcancer.org, the National Breast Cancer Coalition, Nueva Vida, SHARE (Self-Help for Women with Breast or Ovarian Cancer), Sisters Network, Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization and the Young Survival Coalition.
