'Live From Daryl's House' Returning To Palladia, Web

Daryl Hall's performance series Live From Daryl's House is set to begin production on new episodes for Viacom-owned Palladia this fall, from a renovated nightclub in Pawling, N.Y., instead of from its historic venue of Hall's country home.

The show, which has produced more than 60 episodes since originating as a web series in 2007, also will continue to air on VH1 and on Rural Media Group-owned RFD-TV and FamilyNet after their 2014 premieres on Palladia, the HD music channel, and online at www.lfdh.com, according to Jonathan Wolfson, one of the executive producers.

Hall is the taller half of the top-selling pop duo Hall & Oates, and the show revolves around musical guests that he and his house band jam with.

"For Palladia, Live From Daryl's House represents the perfect match of programming and television network," Rick Krim, Executive Vice President, Talent and Music Programming at VH1, said in a statement. "Our viewers' response has been overwhelmingly positive to Daryl and the series which captures the unexpected magic that can happen when talented artists relax and create music together. We're proud to be a part of this show."

Wolfson and Ben Zurier, Executive Vice President, Programming Strategy, VH1, VH1 Classic and Palladia, brokered the deal, they said in the statement.

"I'm thrilled to be able to start producing these new shows for our ever-widening audience, after renewing our relationship with Palladia," Hall said in the statement. "A day doesn't go by that I don't hear from fans about how much they love the show, and everyone knows how much I enjoy doing it. Believe me when I tell you, the best is yet to come."

The show is a joint venture between Hall's Good Cop Bad Cop Productions and Palladia. Executive producers for the show include Hall along with Wolfson, who is also the manager of Hall and Oates. New guests will be announced in the coming weeks, they said.

"We are very pleased to continue this association with our Live from Daryl's House partners at Palladia," Wolfson said in the statement. "This has proven to be a successful combination and we look forward to furthering our alliance, while expanding the brand."

Last year, the show expanded beyond Palladia to the Rural Media outlets and VH1. Wolfson said those channels will continue to air Live From Daryl's House and will receive the new episodes later in the run. The show's online site also will continue to debut new episodes and archived shows.

Hall and Wolfson also are working on a show for DIY about a historic house Hall is renovating in Connecticut, dubbed Daryl's Restoration Over-Hall.

Their renovation zeal extends to a nightclub, formerly called The Towne Crier, in Pawling, N.Y., that is under renovation with plans to reopen, probably under the name Daryl's House, Wolfson said. It will be the new location for Live From Daryl's House episodes, which are produced on a closed set without a studio audience, he said. The show had been produced from Hall's home in nearby Millerton, N.Y., and at various remotes, including one episode at Todd Rundgren's home in Hawaii.
