LodgeNet, Hilton Set Orange Bowl Sweeps

LodgeNet Entertainment Corp. and Hilton Hospitality Inc. are playing for college football’s national championship.

The in-room interactive-TV and broadband-services provider and the hotel giant are teaming up on the “Coca-Cola Hilton HHonors Orange Bowl Sweepstakes,” which offers guests the chance to win a VIP trip to the FedEx Orange Bowl 2005 National Championship Game in Miami Jan. 4.

LodgeNet is displaying a promotional billboard on the “Welcome Channel” of participating properties -- a total of more than 38,000 rooms -- encouraging guests to get scratch-off game pieces when they order any Coca-Cola product at participating on-property restaurants.

“This campaign is our latest opportunity to prove the power of ‘sigNETure TV’ in combining our interactive digital platform, satellite-distribution network and centralized content-management system -- all managed by our expert sigNETure strategy team -- to deliver the right message, to the right audience, at the right time," LodgeNet CEO Scott C. Petersen said in a prepared statement.
