LodgeNet Entertainment Corp. said Thursday that it will time-shift episodes of Showtime’s new Kirstie Alley comedy series, Fat Actress.
The provider of interactive-television and broadband services to hotels said each episode will be available on a pay-per-view basis through its “TV On-Demand” service the day after it airs on Showtime.
Fat Actress will be available in more than 500,000 guest rooms across the United States, LodgeNet added.
“This achievement represents the first time we have distributed a first-run TV series on a day-after, time-shifted basis,” LodgeNet vice president of programming and content management Rob la Bastide said in a prepared statement.
“Showtime has proven itself to be an industry leader with this milestone agreement, realizing that it can effectively cross-promote and build its program audience as LodgeNet continues to further enhance the guest-room experience with quality programming,” he added.
