MTV Networks Latin America will launch Logo TV, which targets the gay and lesbian community, as a pay-per-view service in Mexico and Brazil, officials said Monday.
Logo -- which will be the first general-entertainment service in Latin America to target the gay and transgender community -- will launch as a six-hour program block Nov. 4 in Mexico and Nov. 18 in Brazil.
“The debut of Logo TV in Latin America and Brazil marks the first international expansion of the service outside of the United States,” MTVN International president and MTVN vice chairman Bill Roedy said in a prepared statement.
The six-hour program blocks will be renewed on a weekly basis with new series, episodes, movies and specials. MTVN Latin America is also in talks with other pay TV operators in the region regarding carrying Logo.
