Logo, MTV Networks’ new gay-targeted service, is partnering with the publisher of The Advocate to create co-branded TV specials and a headline-news online service, officials said Monday.
Logo, slated to debut June 30, is teaming up with LPI Media Inc., which publishes Out and The Out Traveler, along with The Advocate.
Under the multiyear, multiplatform agreement, Logo and LPI will develop and produce at least five programs per year, with the first to air in the fourth quarter. The co-branded specials will be based on original content from news magazine The Advocate, gay-culture magazine Out and The Out Traveler, which presents the travel experience from a gay perspective.
The deal also includes the creation of a Logo and The Advocate co-branded headline-news service, which will feature a daily online-news service that will be found on Logo’s Web site starting in the fourth quarter. The service’s news content will come directly from the editorial staff of The Advocate.
